The Venue

Our concerts take place in the Hall of the Town House, High Street, Inverness. The Town House, which is in the Victorian Gothic style, was designed by William Lawrie, architect, and opened in 1882.  The finely roofed Town Hall is accessed by the staircase and refreshments are served during the interval in the Council Chamber. The Hall gives a sense of space and elegance, made more attractive by the many stained glass windows, which provide light and colour.

The Hall and stage have been re-floored, adding to its physical and acoustic qualities and in September 2006, it was further enhanced with the acquisition of a brand new Bosendorfer 214 grand piano.

You can get 360° views of the Hall, staircase and Council Chamber by Entering http://www.ambaile.org.uk and then typing "Town Hall virtual tour" in the Search box.
